Etro Fall/Winter 2021 – Milan Fashion Week Men’s

January 20, 2021

Kean Etro had to stream his fashion show, instead of a live event, after a peak in the pandemic in Italy. He chose to present his Fall/Winter 2021 collection in a spare industrial space bathed in sunlight streaming through huge windows.

Colors and precious fabrics were present in this collection which remains faithful to the DNA of the luxury house created in 1968 by his father, Gerolamo Gimmo Etro.

Travel-loving, Kean Etro splashed his fluid, deconstructed silhouettes with the brand’s signature cashmere patterns while another brand motif, the Pegasus winged horse, opting for more discretion, embellished bomber jackets and oversize hoodies.

Comfort was the watchword of this collection – long periods of lockdown have gone through this – we feel the designer’s need to blur the boundaries between day and lounge wear.

Thus, long and sumptuous coats in the robe coat style have been associated, for example, with hoodies and baggy pants held in place by wide belts, and the chic suits were made from fabrics that exuded comfort, such as smooth velvet or linen.

Accessories included brogues and loafers classically crafted in the Italian tradition, colorful sneakers, pouches and cross-body bags with multiple pockets, and backpacks decorated with mandala and paisley patterns.
