Fendi’s Fall/Winter 2023 men’s show featured sumptuous clothes, with hand-painted, antique-finish leather coats and shearling jackets, long puffer jackets in plongé leather, hand-woven cashmere totes stuffed with cashmere blankets, and crocodile boots with Cuban heels.
The collection was one of the most overtly luxurious in Milan, plush in texture and enveloping in its generous proportions and multiple layers of the finest fabrics. The designer, Silvia Venturini Fendi, layered on a disco theme for the presentation, which included a throbbing bespoke soundtrack by Giorgio Moroder, and evening looks spangled with enough silver to create a dazzling light display. She also reprised one-shoulder styles for men as sexy sweaters and offbeat striped dress shirts. The collection featured investment pieces in sober, classic colors like gray, oatmeal, navy, and black.
