Shot amongst the French Communist Party’s stables in Paris, his collection was “like a taste of danger”, Valli said in a statement. It was a collection very much within the Giambattista fold. For his Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2021, the puckered waists, columns of silk faille, sheer tulle, appliquè feathers, high-low hemlines and Odile Gilbert hairdos were perhaps his most daring shade of the season. He also played with men’s haute couture looks, new for Valli, loose-fitting suits were of course followed by dramatic capes.
