Filippo Grazioli joined Missoni as creative director last March. One of his goals is to revitalize the brand and take it to a new evolution, addressing a younger and more connected clientele, all with softness and subtlety.
“I’m here to reignite the flame and accompany the codes that are so strong in this house”, he said. “For starters, I wanted to update the graphics, the fiammato, the zig zag, and the patchwork“, Grazioli then explained.
His first-ever collection for the Italian house pays homage to founder Ottavio Missoni’s style, reworking the brand’s pillars and codes, which he revisits with a youthful twist and comfort at the forefront.
Based on a limited palette – white, black and primary colors such as yellow, red and blue – Grazioli revisits these patterns in tone-on-tone relief, in different proportions, as a detail and sometimes with a 3D effect. The silhouettes, on the other hand, remain casual, “easy, generous and comfortable“, addressing “an everyday man, bringing the comfort of knitwear and its lightness throughout the wardrobe“.
