This year, Puma is ardently celebrating the Pride community with a series of significant initiatives via their REFORM platform. The initiative is founded on a mission to eradicate prejudices and ensure that anyone and everyone desiring to play is afforded the chance, irrespective of their gender, race or origin.
Puma, driven by a strong commitment to inclusiveness, has unveiled a new product lineup in homage to Pride. The 2023 Pride collection is a testament to Puma’s sustained support for the LGBTQ+ community and embodies its ongoing endeavors to promote advocacy, education and inclusiveness.
The company has paid tribute to the 1960s gay liberation movement’s aesthetics by creating a distinct mosaic pattern marked by a handcrafted appearance, featuring grassroots symbols and iconography. The signature Puma Suede has been revamped with elements of this pattern incorporated in the laces, tongue, heel, and collar of the low-top silhouette. This unique Downtown Pride pattern is beautifully replicated across items such as the Downtown Pride Tee and Downtown Pride Shorts. The collection is expanded further with accessories such as a Tote Bag, Multipouch, and Bucket Hat, all carrying the Downtown Pride pattern.
Puma is committed to strengthening its advocacy and education efforts, and as a part of this initiative, has collaborated with The Trevor Project, a preeminent organization focused on suicide prevention amongst LGBTQ+ youth. This partnership has resulted in the #REFORMTheLockerRoom curriculum, an accessible online training course designed to promote inclusivity and educate coaches, athletic directors, and other leaders in youth sports about the significance of respecting and celebrating diversity.
Understanding the critical necessity of fostering a safe and inclusive environment, Puma is collaborating with Christopher Street Day (CSD) Nürnberg e.V. support association for the fourth time. This alliance reflects Puma’s resolve to boost the queer community’s voices and rights and shows its unwavering dedication to fostering diversity and equality.
