Sacai designer Chitose Abe took advantage of her brief trip in Paris, where she presented her Haute Couture collection as guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier last month – a collection she described as a “intimate and more friendly proposition” – to shoot her Spring/Summer 2022 collection at the Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.

In collaboration with German streetwear brand ACRONYM, the collection focused on “clothing functionality and performance” to “go outdoors”. “You can wear them day-to-day, but you can also wear them on fancier occasions as well, so with that location, we were able to depict both scenarios”, explained Chitose Abe.
Thus, on this theme of bonding and unity, the collection emphasized outfits cut from technical materials, one of ACRONYM’s strong points, and loaded with functional details.
Workwear was also ubiquitous, underlined by touches of warm and expressive colors as well as iconic Sacai prints, such as bandana patterns or buffalo checks.
“Having known Chitose, and of course Sacai, for many years, this collaboration is the ideal kind of cross-pollination”, Hugh explained on Instagram. “And as I believe you can see from the results, it’s a true blend of the philosophies of both brands, where the sum is greater than the parts”.
