The aesthetic heritage of Valentino meets refined Japanese craftsmanship in a new collaboration between Valentino Garavani and Porter. A special capsule of Valentino Garavani bags was presented on the runway during the Valentino Spring/Summer 2024 Menswear ”The Narratives” show in Milan last June.
A collaboration is fundamentally a conversation between different codes and traditions, ideas and iterations. For Valentino Garavani and Porter, two very different worlds come together in a partnership for superior craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. The House’s couture excellence meets Porter’s tradition of pieces that combine utility with striking simplicity and enduring style.
Drawing on the aesthetic codes of each brand, the bags in the collaboration have been developed under two creative pillars: a group of Valentino Garavani Locò bags, to which Porter’s famous nylon has been applied, and a second group featuring the Toile Iconographe jacquard pattern on Porter’s iconic silhouette. Inside each capsule, a Rosso Valentino interior unifies the collection while making an explicit reference to the House’s emblematic color.
For this collaboration, the contemporary Valentino Garavani Locò silhouette is influenced by Porter’s always practical and essential aesthetic. On a small and medium version of the bag, Porter’s nylon is imagined in a range of shades from black to khaki to yellow.

Four traditional Porter styles are also revisited by the House. Valentino‘s Toile Iconographe pattern leaves an indelible mark on Porter’s briefcase, tote, shoulder bag and sling pouch in subtle tone-on-tone hues. Precious details on each model testify to Porter’s timeless sensibility, including a removable Valentino Garavani pouch on the sling bag.
In keeping with the capsule’s commitment to quality, all pieces are made entirely in Japan under strict design and construction standards.
