Known for their exploration of original fabrics and abstract concepts, Satoshi Kondo and his design team have brought this same innovation to their new HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE Fall/Winter 2022 collection.

Inspired by the form of a tent, the collection, entitled ‘’A Work of Arc’’, looked at this structure consisting of fabric and a frame, and adapted elements of its construction for making of pleated garments.
The collection featured, with movement as a focal point, a contemporary approach to framing the body with clothing, playing with folds and pleats to give rise to a new exploration of three-dimensional forms.
By playing with these new shapes, Satoshi Kondo and his team highlighted the evolving reality of how staples garments can not only move but rest on the body.
The range was made up of several series which each look at a different aspect of tent construction. ARC was inspired by the form of a tent when held up by curved poles, BOW mimicked a tarp stretched over and across a tent, and LANTERN was a print series that depicted the glow of a lantern through a tent.
And finally, a series of collaborative shoes between HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE and Wakouwa completed this autumn offer.
