In a nod to the war in Ukraine, Stella McCartney’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection was set to the music of John Lennon’s anti-war ballad “Give Peace a Chance“.

Walking along the glassed-in corridors atop the Pompidou Center, with a breathtaking view of Paris as a backdrop, her girls paraded in fabulous, flattering dresses, suspended from triangle bra tops, with draped sleeves and bubble hems, or in slick-looking coated georgette with cape effects creating a goddess-like grace.
“I believe very firmly in peace and love and obviously to use John’s song, who was my dad’s best friend…it just shows for me, it’s a personal song that reflects the whole world’s thoughts, I hope, right now”, told McCartney, referring to her father, Paul McCartney.
A longtime friend of sustainability, this season Stella McCartney was taking her commitment even further with new materials such as the grape skin waste used to make her bags.
Otherwise, 67 percent of the collection was made with sustainable materials, including forest-friendly viscose, organic cotton, recycled nylon, recycled polyester, regenerative NATIVA wool and RWS wool from traceable sources.
