Unveiling just before Olivier Rousteing’s documentary ‘’Wonder Boy’’ hits Netflix on June 28, the creative director said his Cruise 2022 (Resort 2022) collection for Balmain is his most personal yet, blending his African origins with his own personal inspiration and heritage with Balmain’s Parisian legacy.

“I think it’s one of the most personal collections I’ve done in my entire career”, said Rousteing.
It was also one of his most diverse, striking and assured collections, with a wealth of bold patterns and rich textures balanced with nonchalant summer shapes. There was a nomadic, beach-y vibe that felt new for Balmain – the collection reflected the Riviera Rousteing, lover of life from Ibiza to Mykonos to SoCal – exemplified by roomy ponchos, oversized hobo bags, pareo skirts, silky caftans and loose tops and dresses sliding off one shoulder.
